The Sims Social has arrived on Facebook. The game’s sure to make its presence felt in the competitive world of on-line gaming, but even before launch, The Sims latest incarnation was already making internet headlines and generating a steady stream of breathless comment from fans eager to experience the new gold standard for social games.
Back in May, EA launched their Sims Social Facebook App, More To Like. Excited Sims fans were invited to register their interest in the forthcoming game, in exchange for exclusive in-game items that would be unlocked as the number of ‘likes’ passed certain milestone figures.
Not even the game’s developers, however, could have anticipated the app’s popularity. At the time of writing, almost 1.2 million people have liked The Sims Social app, unlocking seven awesome exclusive items for registered fans to enjoy from the first week of release.
From the compact flame-grilling delights of the Yosemite Portable BBQ, to the poptastic Liebefunkenmann SS-10 electric keyboard, and the imposing grandeur of the Pompeii Fireplace, More To Like users will be able to get the jump on their new Littlehaven neighbors, with some of the most desirable décor items available. And it won’t cost them one single, shiny simoleon.
To say thanks for making The Sims Social the most talked about social game in the world - even before release - unlocked reward items, beginning with the Yosemite BBQ, will be made available via a series of links posted on the fanpage.
Individual item links will appear on The Sims Social’s Facebook wall at regular intervals over the course of launch week … After that, when they’re gone they’re gone for good!
